Each week we'll explore beginner friendly herbal preparations with easy to find plant material through collective formulation. Everyone will also go home with an individualized concoction to support your personal practice.
Week 1: Agua
We'll kick off the series with one of the necessities for life: water. Water is the basis of many
herbal treatments from tisanes to sitz baths to compresses. It is also an important element in
spiritualism, used to create formulas for protection and cleansing. Our class will touch on the
multitude of water applications with a focus on internal herbal medicinal uses.
Week 2: Alcohol
In our second week, we'll explore the many uses of alcohol. Alcohol is a cornerstone of
herbalism; it allows for us to create self-stable extractions of herbs that can be used both
internally and externally. We'll use high-proof alcohol that can be transformed into tinctures or
into herbal first aid sprays.
Week 3: Vinagre
Our third and final week will be all about vinegar. Vinegars have been used historically as acost-effective, versatile base for herbal medicines from oxymels to facial toners. During our class we'll go over basic fermentation to make homemade vinegar and create herbal infusions.
The series is crafted to flow into one another but are also drop-in friendly $30. Classes will have an informational section and a hands-on component for active learning.
